How the Loon works — and its limits

Last updated: April 2026

How the Loon reads your emails

When you forward an email to Quiet Loon, the Loon reads it and pulls out events, deadlines, tasks, and other details on your behalf. This is what makes the service work automatically — no manual entry, no copy-pasting. Under the hood, this is powered by Google Gemini, a language model made by Google.

AI can make mistakes

AI is powerful but not perfect. Quiet Loon may occasionally:

  • Extract incorrect dates, times, or locations from emails
  • Miss events or tasks mentioned in complex or unusual email formats
  • Misread ambiguous language or context
  • Fail to extract information from poorly formatted or image-only emails

Always check important information

We strongly recommend that you treat anything Quiet Loon extracts as a helpful prompt, not a guaranteed fact. Before acting on any event, deadline, or task shown in your dashboard — particularly for time-sensitive matters — please verify the details against the original email or source.

Quiet Loon is a tool to reduce your mental load, not replace your judgement.

No liability for AI errors

Quiet Loon Limited accepts no liability for losses, missed appointments, or other consequences arising from inaccurate AI extraction. By using the service you acknowledge that AI-generated content requires human verification before being relied upon.
